Selling at the counter: open bills, take orders and take payment
Open a dine-in or takeaway bill, add menu items, park bills, split or merge them, then take cash, PromptPay or a split payment to close the bill.
Open a bill and take the order
On the POS tap Open dine-in bill and pick a table (or No table), or tap Open takeaway bill. Then tap menu items to add them. Items with options open the option picker: choose and tap Add to bill. Added items appear on the kitchen display straight away.
Steps
- Open a dine-in or takeaway billA dine-in bill can have a table, or choose No table
- Pick a category or search, then tap an item to add itRequired options must be chosen before Add to bill
- Change the quantity with + / − or add a Kitchen note on the line
- Check the amount due, then tap Pay
Good to know
- Items switched off (sold out) are not shown on the POS. Switch them back on in menu management.
- If tapping an item asks you to open a bill first, tap Dine in or Takeaway on the bill panel first.
- Tapping the same item again (same options, no note, same price) raises the last line to 2 instead of adding another line. Once the kitchen has started that line or that order, it comes in as a new line the kitchen can see.
Tables, parking and recalling bills
The top bar of the POS has Take orders / Tables / Parked bills. The Tables tab shows which tables are free or have a bill: tap a free table to open a bill, tap a busy table to go back to its bill. Tap Park bill when the customer is not paying yet, and bring it back from the Parked bills tab.
Steps
- Tap Park bill on the open bill
- When ready, open the Parked bills tab or the Tables tab
- Tap the bill and check its items before taking more orders or payment
Good to know
- The POS only shows bills of the branch you are working in. If a bill is missing, check the branch.
Split and merge bills
Under the total of a bill that has not been paid there are Split bill and Merge bills buttons. Split bill lets you choose Pick items (move some items to a new bill) or Split evenly (divide quantities across several bills). Merge bills moves the items of another open bill onto this one. You review a summary before confirming.
Good to know
- You must be online, and the bill must have no payment, no discount or points, no tip and no PromptPay QR waiting to be paid.
- Splitting or merging does not touch stock, tax is worked out again per bill, and the table of a merged-away bill becomes free.
- A table has one open bill at a time, so the table stays with the original bill; a bill split off it shows as “Table 3 · split bill” and the kitchen screen names the table. If every line is split out, the first new bill takes the table. Once the table's own bill is paid the table is free; if a split bill is still open, the table tile shows Split bills open with a Go to split bill button (tapping the tile opens a new bill).
- If Split evenly or Pick items cannot be used, the reason shows under the buttons, for example every item has a quantity of 1.
Take cash and split payments
Tap Pay and choose the Cash tab. Enter the cash received or tap an amount; the change is shown, then tap the confirm button. The Quick cash buttons 50/100/200/500 on the bill panel only fill in the amount; you still confirm once more. If the customer pays several ways, use the Split tab and add one payment at a time; the bill closes by itself when fully paid.
Steps
- Tap Pay on the bill panel
- Choose the Cash, PromptPay or Split tab
- Enter the amount received and check the change or the remaining balanceSplit: choose Cash or PromptPay, enter this payment's amount, then tap Add payment
- When payment succeeds the receipt window opens; tap Print
Good to know
- The Split tab appears when the store has multi-method payment switched on, and it works only online.
- A receipt appears only after the payment is saved. If the connection drops while you tap, wait for the result and never take the money twice.
Take PromptPay and confirm slips
In the PromptPay tab tap Create PromptPay QR and let the customer scan it with their banking app. The screen waits for the payment and closes the bill once the money is confirmed. If the store confirms from slips, check in the banking app that the money arrived, then enter the slip reference or take a photo of the slip (as the store has set) and tap Confirm payment received. A store that verifies slips with the bank enters or scans the reference and taps Verify slip and close bill.
Good to know
- One slip can close only one bill. If the system says the slip was already used, the customer may be showing an old slip.
- If the QR expires you can create a new one, but never collect twice: first check whether the first payment arrived.
- Slip confirmation and the PromptPay account are set on the Settings › Payment methods page.
Give a discount and take a tip
In the payment window open the Adjustments tab, choose Baht or Percent (%), enter the amount with a reason and tap Apply discount. A percent discount is worked out in baht from the bill total when it is applied. A discount above the store's ceiling needs a manager PIN. Tips are under Additional options: No tip, 5%, 10% or a custom amount. A tip is kept apart from the goods total, is not part of the VAT base and shows separately in the shift activity on the Cash Drawer page.
Good to know
- Giving a discount needs the discount permission, and a reason is always required.
- A new store with no ceiling set asks for an approver PIN every time. If you are the owner and have no PIN yet, tap No PIN yet. Set your PIN now in the approval window.
- Tips need a connection and appear when the store has tipping switched on.
Void a bill
Open the bill, tap Pay, choose the Adjustments tab and go to Void bill. Enter a reason and confirm. A void cancels the whole bill and is written to the audit history. If part of the bill was already paid, that money is refunded to the customer in the same step.
Steps
- Open the bill you want to void and tap Pay
- Choose the Adjustments tab and go to Void bill
- Enter the reason and tap Void billAbove the ceiling the system asks for a manager PIN
Good to know
- A void cannot be undone. To keep selling, open a new bill.
- A bill that is already closed is not voided here; refund it from Bill History.
- A new store asks for a PIN for every void. If it says you have no PIN yet, tap Set your PIN now and confirm with the password you sign in with.
When a sale or payment does not go through
Read the message under the button first; it always says why. A bill needs at least one item and a total above zero. If it says the cash drawer shift was closed while saving, open a new shift and try again. After too many wrong PIN attempts the system locks briefly; wait the time shown.
Good to know
- Low stock never blocks a sale; the bill still closes. If the store has the warning switched on, a notice after closing says which ingredients went below zero; count or receive stock to correct it.
- No internet: a store without offline selling must reconnect before taking payment. PromptPay and split payment do not work offline.
- A store with offline selling switched on can take cash only, and it syncs by itself when the connection returns. Offline is limited to 24 hours or 200 bills.
- If the POS says the store has switched selling off, the owner can switch it on in Settings › Store features.
