Members, earning points and redeeming points
Register members by phone number, earn points when a customer pays a bill with their phone attached, redeem points as a discount at POS checkout, and set the store's point rates.
Register and find members
Members are identified by phone number; a name is optional. The page finds one phone number at a time and never shows a full customer list, so customer details stay private.
Steps
- Open "Members & points" and type the phone number the customer gave you
- If nobody is found, tap "Register a new member" or "Add member"
- Add a name if you have one and save. If the phone is already registered, the existing profile opens instead
Earn points when the customer pays
Customers earn points when they pay a bill with their member phone attached, at the store's rate, rounded down to whole points: 4.9 points becomes 4.
Steps
- At POS checkout, search the customer's phone
- Tap "Attach" to put the member on the bill before taking payment
- Take payment and close the bill; the points appear in the member's point history
Good to know
- Points are not added if the phone was not attached before payment. The owner can add them under "Manage member" with a reason.
Redeem points as a discount
At POS checkout, search the phone, tap "Attach", then "Redeem". Points can be used once per bill; the discount never exceeds the bill and is never paid out as cash.
Good to know
- Voided or refunded bills return or take back points automatically as a new entry in the point history; do not fix balances by hand.
Check a member's balance and point history
The member profile shows the points balance, its approximate discount value, total points earned and redeemed, and the point history newest first. Filter by earned, redeemed or returned/deducted, and open the bill behind an entry. History entries cannot be edited or deleted.
Set the earning rate and point value
On Settings › Loyalty & points, set "Purchase amount for 1 point" and "Discount value per point", then tap "Save points rates". New rates apply to bills paid after you save, at every branch; points from earlier bills do not change.
Good to know
- Turn the loyalty program on or off in Settings › Store features. Turning it off keeps every customer's points.
Adjust points, merge duplicates or deactivate a member
Open the member profile and use "Manage member": "Adjust points" adds or deducts points, "Merge a duplicate" moves all points to the member you keep, and "Deactivate member" stops the profile being used. Every change needs a reason and is recorded.
Good to know
- A balance cannot go below zero. A deactivated member cannot be found or use points, but can be reactivated.
