Getting started with a new store, and the go-live readiness checklist
What a new store should do first, from store details, PromptPay, menu, tables, staff and printer to the first bill, with the guide on the Store overview and the Go-live readiness page.
Where to start: from setup to the first bill
A new store can follow this order. The only real requirement before selling is at least one menu item; PromptPay and tables can be skipped (cash works right away, and a takeaway-only store needs no tables).
Steps
- Set up store detailsStore name, logo and phone on Settings › Store details.
- Set up PromptPayOn the Payment methods page.
- Add the items you sellOn Menu management, or import from an Excel file on the Import data page.
- Add tablesOn Settings › Tables.
- Add staff and set PINsOn Users & access, and set an approver PIN on the Approvals page.
- Set up the printer, then ring up the first bill at the POSOn Settings › Receipts & printers, then open the POS, pick items and take payment.
Good to know
- If the store is VAT-registered, someone with tax permission should enter the tax details before issuing tax invoices.
The Get to your first sale guide on the Store overview
Until the store closes its first bill, the Store overview shows a Get to your first sale card (to people who manage store settings). It has 4 steps: add menu items, set up PromptPay (optional), add tables (optional) and ring up the first bill. The main button opens the next unfinished step, and for a store on credits (every newly signed-up store) the card also shows what is free and how many AI credits are left.
Good to know
- The card disappears by itself after the first bill is closed.
- Hide only hides the card in this browser.
The Go-live readiness page
Go-live readiness checks the whole store and every branch and sorts the results into Fix before opening, Recommended before opening and Ready. Each item has a Fix it or Start button that opens the page where you set it up. The page only reads your setup, so come back after you finish to see the new state.
Steps
- Open Settings > Go-live readinessOr tap See the full go-live checklist on the Store overview card.
- Finish everything under Fix before opening first
- Do what you can under Recommended before opening
- Check each branch has tables, staff and opening stock
Good to know
- Checks include store name and logo, phone and email, tax details, PromptPay, menu ready to sell, tables, one paid test bill, ingredients, suppliers, opening stock, an approver PIN, and staff for every role.
- Tax details must be set by someone with tax permission, such as the owner.
