AI assistant: free how-to help, store data questions, Operations Copilot and Pet Assistant
The AI assistant page brings together free how-to help for every store, credit-priced questions about your store data, the Operations Copilot that prepares records, chat history, and the Pet Assistant you can ask from any screen.
Pick a task or a mode
The AI assistant opens on its home screen with an ask box at the top. Choose where it goes - Ask about your store, Fill in records, or How-to help - check the credit cost shown under the box, then press send or Enter. Below it are today's suggested actions and ready-made task cards with their prices; a card opens its mode with the text filled in for you to review before sending. Inside a mode, press Assistant home at the top left to go back. Which modes you see depends on your account's permissions and the features the store has switched on.
Steps
- Ask how to do something or fix a problemChoose How-to help in the ask box, or the Ask how to use BoxBak card.
- Ask about sales, profit, stock or trendsChoose Ask about your store, or a card under Analyze your store.
- Have AI prepare menu items, ingredients, staff, shifts or price changesChoose Fill in records and describe the job.
Good to know
- If Ask about your store is missing, the account may not be allowed to view reports, or the store has not switched the AI assistant on in Settings › Store features.
- In the text box, Enter sends and Shift+Enter starts a new line.
What is free and what uses credits
Asking how to use BoxBak in BoxBak help and in the Pet Assistant is free for every store and never uses credits. AI-phrased answers have a free daily allowance of 20 per person and 100 per store, counted by the store's business day. After the allowance the assistant still answers with the written guide plus a short note; it is never blocked. Questions about your store data and other AI jobs, such as captions or menu photos, use credits, and each task card shows the price before you start.
Good to know
- Price labels read like: N credit(s) per question, Credits by actual usage, No credits, or Not available yet.
- Asking the same data question again is answered from the saved answer and is not charged twice.
- The BoxBak team can adjust the free daily allowance. Running out of credits never stops selling at the till.
Ask how to use BoxBak
Type the question the way you would say it. The assistant finds the best-matching guide, checks your account's permissions and the store's features, then answers with steps and buttons to the right screens, and can point to up to 3 related guides. Questions asked in English are answered in English.
Good to know
- The badge under an answer shows its source: AI-enhanced, or BoxBak guide with 0 credit.
- If your account lacks a permission or the store has a feature switched off, the answer says why and hides shortcuts you cannot open.
Ask about your store data (uses credits)
Ask about your store answers from the same numbers as the Reports pages, for example today's sales against yesterday, the most profitable items, or ingredients running low. Example questions are grouped by topic, such as Sales, Menu & profit, Stock & purchasing and Deep analysis. Tapping an example puts it in the text box so you can edit it before sending, so nothing is charged by accident. After each answer, Ask next suggests related questions that also fill the box. Answers show where the numbers come from, and you can download the source table as Excel.
Good to know
- If the store runs out of credits, the screen says so with a Top up button; how-to questions keep working as usual.
Let the Operations Copilot prepare work
Describe the job in Fill in records and press send (Prepare draft), or tap an example to put it in the text box first. The Copilot checks permissions and features before showing a draft. For new menu items, ingredients, employees and shifts you press Confirm and open the action screen and save it yourself on the real screen. For a menu price change, switching a menu item on or off, and a purchase order from low stock, you press Confirm and save and it is saved immediately in your name.
Steps
- Describe the job with the key detailsFor example the item name, price and category, or the employee and shift times.
- Review the proposalCheck the values the AI picked up and the note that nothing is saved yet.
- ConfirmPermissions and features are checked again before the screen opens or the change is saved.
Good to know
- The Copilot never changes cash, stock levels, tax or user permissions.
- A purchase order made by the Copilot is open and is not sent to the supplier.
- Everything the Copilot saves appears in Changes made by AI and can be reverted while nobody has edited it since.
- If the account is not allowed, the proposal says This account cannot perform that action.
- Create a menu item with its photo: press the paper-clip button next to the text box to attach a product photo (JPG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB). It becomes the menu photo and is saved to your media library when you create the menu. No AI credit is used.
Refine a proposal or start a new task
After a menu or ingredient proposal you can keep typing changes, such as change it to 65 baht; the other fields stay. If something is missing the Copilot asks only for that field. Press Start new task to prepare a different record. Some menu and ingredient proposals offer Confirm and fill form, which opens the real form pre-filled for you to check and save yourself.
Good to know
- A proposal you can refine lasts 15 minutes in the same tab; after that, describe the job again.
- A pre-filled form never overwrites unsaved input, and duplicate menu or ingredient names must be checked before saving.
Chat history and privacy
Chat history stays on this device only, separately for each store and user, so it is still there after you change pages, but it is never sent to other devices. Press Settings at the top right of the AI assistant page to Download history (a JSON file) or Delete all history on this device. Deleting history does not switch the Pet Assistant on or off.
Good to know
- Never type a PIN, password or card details into a question; the assistant never asks for them.
Turn the Pet Assistant on or off and use it
The Pet Assistant is a companion you can ask how-to questions from any screen, and it shares its history with How-to help. Switch it on or off under Settings at the top right of the AI assistant page. It is on by default and the setting is per user on this device.
Steps
- On a computer, press the Ask us character at the bottom right
- On a phone, press Pet Assistant in the bottom navigation bar
- Ask about the screen you are onThe assistant knows which screen you asked from.
Good to know
- The Pet Assistant is hidden on the AI assistant page itself, where How-to help is already open.
