Try a menu price before you change it
Try a new price or a percent change, see the margin per dish from the recipe cost and the expected monthly gross-profit change from the last 30 or 90 days of sales, then send the new prices as drafts for someone to approve.
Try a price and read the result
Each menu item shows its current price, recipe cost per dish, margin per dish and dishes sold per month. Type a new price per item, or type a percent and apply it to several items at once. The page works out the new margin per dish and how much monthly gross profit changes. The assumption box asks how many percent fewer dishes customers order for every 10% price rise; the default 0 means the same number of dishes.
Steps
- Choose a branch's prices (or base prices) and 30 or 90 days of sales
- Type new prices, or a percent and tap Apply to the chosen items
- If you expect fewer orders when prices rise, fill the assumption box
- Read the totals at the bottom: the monthly gross-profit change and monthly sales
Good to know
- The cost per dish is the same as the gross margin report, without optional add-ons. Items without a recipe show no cost and are left out of profit.
- Only people who can see costs can use it.
Send new prices for approval
The simulator never changes a price by itself. Tap Send for approval and it creates one price-change draft per item in the approvals list. The price changes when someone who may edit the menu approves the draft. If the menu price was changed before approval, the draft is not used.
Steps
- Tap Send for approval in the totals box
- Open the approvals list and approve or reject each item
Good to know
- At most 20 items per send; items with a waiting draft or an unchanged price are skipped.
