Turn store features on or off, and why a menu item is missing

Turn a feature on or off

Every BoxBak feature can be used without buying a pack to unlock it. The Store features page has a switch for each feature, such as the kitchen screen, stock and loyalty: turn one on right away and off when you do not need it. The only costs are AI work and extra capacity, paid with credits.

Steps

1. Open Settings > Store features
2. Search for the feature, or filter by area and status
3. Tap the switch to turn it on or offSome features ask you to confirm first, such as turning off the POS for the whole store.
4. Check the feature status: Ready or Needs setup

Good to know

• Turning a feature off hides its pages and menu items; data already saved stays, and you can turn it back on at any time.
• Needs setup means the switch is on but another required feature must be turned on first, or setup is not finished.

Why a menu item or page is missing

A menu item or page is hidden for two main reasons: the feature is switched off, or the signed-in account's role does not have permission. If the feature is off, the owner turns it on on the Store features page. If it is a permission issue, someone who manages users and access must change the role.

Steps

1. Check on Store features that the feature is on and ready
2. Check the current branch has not switched the feature off for that branch onlySee Branch-specific features on the Branches & tables page.
3. Check the user's role on the Users & access page
4. Sign out and back in, or refresh the page, after access changes

Good to know

• If a link sends you back to the start page, the account usually does not have permission for that page.

Choose a store format to hide what you do not use

Settings › Store format lets you pick the format closest to your store, such as drinks/desserts at a counter, tables that keep ordering, or made in batches. When a format has several kinds of shop, also pick what you mainly sell (for example cafe, bubble tea or ice cream): that picks the sample menu and the QR page look. BoxBak shows which features will be turned on or off before you tap Apply recommended set; menus a store like yours does not use are hidden. You can change it at any time and still adjust each feature yourself on Store features.

Steps

1. Open Settings › Store format
2. Pick a store format and what you mainly sell, then review the changes
3. Tap Apply recommended set

Planned features (not available yet)

At the bottom of Store features is a Planned features list, such as Promotion, Reservation (table booking) and automatic GrabFood / LINE MAN orders. They are listed so you know they are coming, but they cannot be used yet. For now, key delivery-app orders in at the POS as takeaway bills.

Find a setting from the Settings overview

The Settings overview has a Find a setting box: type a word you know, such as tables, PromptPay, VAT or logo, and jump straight to that page. The same page shows what is left to set up, how many features are on, and recent settings changes.
