Bottle keep: keep a guest's bottle, pour from it next time, handle expired bottles
Record a bottle a guest leaves with you, with a tag number, the guest's name, how much is left and when the keep runs out. Next time, pour from the same bottle and record the new level. A manager can extend or write off an expired bottle.
Keep a new bottle
When a guest does not finish a bottle and wants to leave it, open bottle keep from the "Bottle keep" button on the POS, tap "Keep a bottle" and enter the guest's name, an optional phone number, the bottle, about how much is left and how many days to keep it (30 by default). Each bottle gets the store's next tag number; write it on the bottle's tag and shelve it.
Steps
- On the POS, tap "Bottle keep"
- Tap "Keep a bottle" and enter the guest, the bottle, the level and the days
- Tap "Keep the bottle" and write the tag number shown on the bottle
Good to know
- A kept bottle moves no stock and no sales: it was sold, and its stock deducted, when the bill that sold it closed.
- Only the last 4 digits of the phone are shown, but you can search by the full number.
The guest comes back: pour from the kept bottle
Find the bottle by tag number, guest, bottle or phone, tap "Pour" and choose the level left after pouring. When the guest finishes it, tap "Finished" and the bottle moves to the Closed tab. Mixers, ice and soda go on the bill as usual.
Good to know
- The level after pouring must be lower than before. A new bottle is kept as a new bottle.
Expired bottles: extend, write off and void
Bottles are listed by expiry, with a mark on those expiring within 7 days and those already expired. An expired bottle cannot be poured until a manager extends it. The owner or a manager taps "Extend" (counted from today), "Write off" for a bottle that expired or the guest never came back for, or "Void" (with a reason) for a bottle entered by mistake.
Good to know
- Every change is kept in the bottle's history: tap "History" to see who poured when and what was left.
