Per-head buffet: packages, starting a table and the clock
Set adult / child prices, time at the table, the menu categories included and the ingredients per guest, then start a buffet on a table from the POS. BoxBak times it, closes QR ordering at last order and deducts stock by headcount.
Set up a package
A package has an adult price, an optional child price, the time at the table and how many minutes before the end ordering closes. Dishes in the categories you include ring up at 0 on a buffet bill; other categories, such as drinks, are charged as usual.
Steps
- Open the menu page and tap "Buffet"
- Tap "Add package", enter the name, prices and time, and choose the included categories
- Tap "Save"
Good to know
- If the page says buffet is not switched on, turn it on in Settings › Store features.
Ingredients per guest (stock)
Add what guests serve themselves or get per person, such as sauce, soup or vegetables, as an amount per guest. When the bill closes, stock is deducted by the headcount; a child counts at the percentage you set (50% by default). Ordered dishes still deduct their own recipe.
Start a buffet on a table and change the headcount
At the POS, open the table's dine-in bill and tap "Start buffet". Choose the package, enter adults and children, and tap "Start the timer". The bill gets the per-head charge and the table shows the time left. If the headcount changes, tap "Change guests" and the charge follows.
Good to know
- The per-head charge cannot be edited or removed directly; change the headcount instead.
Last order and time up
At last order the guest QR ordering page stops taking orders; staff can still add items at the POS. When time is up the table shows how far over it is. Overtime charges and leftover-food fines are not added automatically yet.
